*A Rare Prime-Time Appearance in the Get Down Lounge....
*Come on now, Nerd Power loses out to the Big Apple? MLB is still wiping the egg from their proverbial faces after Eric "Harry Potter" Sogard almost became the "face" of MLB. Somehow Soggie managed to lose to David Wright of the Mets--that's right, who? It was a silly promotion to begin with, however A's fans, and perhaps the Silicon Valley base in general twittered away! It would seem in the AL, there would be the BIG 4, Trout, Jeter, Big Poppy, and maybe Verbeast (Justin Verlander). In the NL, my top 4 would be Dodgers Puig and Kershaw, Harper of the Nats, and Buster P.
*The W's love playing in the Garden, that's for sure. Curry didn't put up a 50 plus game again, but his first half was pretty impressible. The burden of high expectations have weighed on the team the entire season, and they will continue to grow as the playoffs inch closer. The Bay Area embodies the "California" Bandwaggon mindset, in that fans want Titles, or nothing else. I suggest Warrior fans should just be glad to make the playoffs for consecutive seasons, then proceed from there. Currently the Warriors would draw Portland in the first round, with those Warrior Killers the Spurs waiting on the horizon. The Spurs visit the ROAR-Oracle later this month in a can't miss game for fans of the Blue and Gold.
*The Jimmer Shimmer experiment recently ended in Sacramento. I thought the Warriors might give Jimmer a look as his game a knock off to that of Steph Curry. However, before that could happen, the Bulls are given a Jimmer a looksie. Kings fans, remember the good old days with C-Web, and Vlade and the Gang.
AARGH....so close to championship those team's were, so close!
*Poor Mark Davis, the guys just can't seem to win, literally. (Psst Mark--are you keeping an eye on all of those Niner Free Agents, and Jimbo of course?) The Raiders need a new stadium but where? The O.Co is in a great locale for football, but it creates a an issue for the other tennant.....
*......so maybe after Uncle Bud retires, and the A's win a 5th World Series Ring in Oakland, then the A's will SUE MLB for the right to move? I always thought San Jose had an interesting but difficult case against MLB, but in my opinion, it is the A's that need to sue to move, not the city. A stadium down by the Port seems to have a little traction, but it has a longggggggg way to go. What is so tragic, is how the A's and Raiders seemed so linked at the hip--exactly where they don't want to be!
*I just don't see the Niners wanting the Raiders as a tenant--unless, unless, the new stadium does not quite become the financial bonanza all parties are looking for. Moving to Santa Clara could be a short term win for the Raiders....talk about a strange marriage. How great would it be to see the Niners and Raiders on top of the NFL at the same time? Amy Trask had some interesting things to say about Dennis Allen and Reggie McKenzie by the way.
*Know I really wonder--what is the Browns causing the Hargaugh Drama, or did Jimbo's agent leak a little info? Very tasty over on the West Side. In the end, does it matter how Balke and Coach H get along? Pro sports all about the winning baby!
*By the way, let me be the first to say, the Seahawks are going to struggle. Here is Russel Wilson, after a long season, still messing with baseball? Tusk, Tusk. It is so hard in this time and age for teams to repeat, merely because of all the distractions of being a winner. Smile Niner fans, the Seahawks won't be hosting the NFC Championship game in 2015. (See, can't we all get along?)
*Baseball less than 30 days away for Bay Area fans--less for Dod$er blue faithful. Will this be the year to follow the money? Dodgers and Yankees on top? You will have to wait for my predictions naturally.
*Here in Prime Time I raise the glass to Mr. Mark Davis, wishing him well. His task and the shoes he has to fill--not to mention the ghosts and shadows--are great. Just believe Mr. MD, just believe.
*Don't look now, but March Madness is here!
