EE.UU, EE.UU, Enjoy USA!

*Why the Cup Love?

*In the Summer of 2002, my wife and I--escorted by my parents--honeymooned briefly in Paris, and then the homeland, Portugal. In fact, if you recall, that is when the USA defeated Portugal--on that day the USA scored 3 quick goals on their way to a stunning victory! The television posted the USA as EE.UU--thus, my chant sounded like:  ay-ay-ooh-ooh.  It is all a little ironic...back then I was actually pulling for the USA, this time, well....thinking back, that USA-Portugal game in 2002, that was the first Soccer game I watched from start to finish!

(Hey Kacy Bowers--perhaps next World Cup we can go back to the old country and take in the Cup Euro style!  By the way, nobody hits the weak cheese like my man KB!)

*In our great land of sports fanatics , what makes this WC so exciting, for the first time, many of us--most of us--pulling for the same side! We Americans also don't feel like the under dog often, thus the Cup Del Mundo a double-dip of Patriotic excitement.  This phenomenon explains the California Chrome love we witnessed and experienced recently--our horse, like our team!  Much like a triple crown would be fabulous....a world cup title looks pretty darn tasty too!

*The A's lose in grand style and they make headlines.  When they keep winning--not so much.  Part of the reason for the meltdown--their pen gassed.  Billy B--please dig into your bag and pull out a starting pitcher!
The Price is right Billy! Gigantes coming to the O.Co next always, ALWAYS, a roaring good time!

*I hope Serina Williams is OK....the Williams sisters were forced to withdraw from their doubles match in Wimbledon due to Serina's ill health.  To you Serina, get well. What's up with American tennis...well, thats a conversation for another day--but look across our great land, many more people on the hoop courts, soccer pitches, and even the link's.  I am just saying....(that's for you Flave!).

*The NBA draft just doesn't carry the same juice and buzz with me as the NFL and even the MLB drafts. Right now, isn't the Association really about 3 teams: the Spurs, whichever team Bron Bron plays for, and OC Thunder?

Enjoy the Day USA, and Californians...enjoy your Fireworks--be safe!
