We're Back....

 Well....Here we GO!

To Tip Things Off, Josh Sushon (@Josh_Suchon on X, formerly Twitter) composes a wonderful weekly newsletter or "column." Josh mentions fondly former San Francisco Journalist Herb Caen and the legendary "Three Dot Lounge" in his newsletters. I too enjoyed reading Mr. Caen, and coincidentally, upon graduating from Sacramento State back in the day, met Herb! Mr. Caen was the guest speaker for our Journalism Department's intimate, charming graduation ceremony. (My mother made me go-thankfully. Thanks Mom.)

Thus, on this Sunday 6/23/04, a Tip of the Cap to Josh, Herb, and the Say Hey Kid.

Josh, for reminding me of something dear to my heart. I used to enjoy picking up a San Francisco Chronicle now and a then, and particularly enjoyed the "Pink" pullout section. This is where I fondly recall coming across the "Three Dot Lounge." I realize that perhaps my affinity for the ..., arouse from my pleasure in reading the Bay Area Icon's work!?!

Here is a link to Josh's Newsletter from 6/23/24

Additionally...you might find this link to Herb & The Three Dots an enlightening and engaging read, courtesy of the Escondido Grapevine. Thanks Herb-it was a pleasure and simply a delight to meet you. Well done Escondido Grapevine!

And to Willie! My father said Willie was the best he ever saw play. Pops (Armand Fonseca Sr.) surmised that Willie lost many a homer and a knock to the swirling winds of Candlestick Park.

Tossing the old rock around a bit...

*I took in the Fresno Pro-Am this weekend (@FresnoProAm), and witnessed some pleasurable summer basketball. Lots of offense! One player that stood out to me, Fresno Pacific bound Milo Santos (@Mbu3k) . It seemed like every time Milo touched the ball, the result was beneficial for his team! The talented guard played the 23-24 season for a young coach I am extremely fond of, Allan Hancock's (Santa Maria, CA) Tyson Aye (@CoachTyAye). I look forward to watching Milo and his Sunbird teammates compete. Speaking of Sunbirds, I am also anticipating watching my favorite Cross County & Track guy, former Parlier Panther Evan Torres! I will have more to share about Evan, somewhere down the road! Circling back to the Fresno ProAm, the league will run for the next 7 Saturdays (ending on 8/3/24) @ Fresno City College.

*As many of you are aware I follow the Colorado Rockies and other minor league players for a wonderful website, Prospects1500 (@Prospects1500, and Prospects1500.com); thus I watch my share of the Fresno Grizzlies Games. Sidenote: the Grizzlies are super accommodating to fans and community--and I love the overall positivity and vibe of Stephen Rice (PxP, or play-by-play and Manager of Baseball Communications for the club.) Stephen (@ricecakes20) brings the energy with big time gusto! More on the Rockies, and Rox prospects later too, however it is worth noting that currently Colorado's Single-A (Fresno), High-A (Spokane), and AA (Hartford) franchises are all sporting winning records!

*On the Final Toss, I would like to give a Special Shout-Out to Coach Dawn Staley and her University of South Carolina National Championship Team! 38-0 in 24-25 preceded by a remarkable 36-1 in 2023! While Caitlin Clark-along with LSU's stylish Coach Kim Mulkey, and star Angel Reese all peaked my interest-what turned my proverbial eyeballs to watch some women's hoop was the combination of all these factors combined with the undefeated and nearly unstoppable Lady Gamecocks! From my seat, lost in all of the Caitlin vs. Angel drama, the fact that Coach Staley's team is/was a tremendous story in their own right! Thirty-Eight and Zero, 74-1 over the past two seasons-that is uber balling!!! To Coach Staley and her team: Rock On & Keep On Keepin On!!!

Until the next time...laugh or cry! To Good Health a Little Luck, and Safe Travels to you and yours!
